DESCRIPTION

The building’s profound importance for the city determines the character of most of its main structural elements. Its orientation, its circulatory axes and its design, are based on this relationship that is the one that establishes the building as ‘the city’s first building’. The powerful axis that connects the building to the urban centre continues into the building’s mass and it constitutes the main designing axis. The Urban Web penetrates into the building’s main volume. A central plaza is being created in the south-western side of the plot that attracts the visitors and generates the building’s central gathering point. The ‘final product’ is a building that constitutes a landmark for the wider region and a social symbol for the local community.
